KARAMAH is excited to present a phenomenal event showcasing the life and legacy of Malcolm X. Join us on March 26, at America’s Islamic Heritage Museum, 2315 Martin Luther King Avenue, SE., 7:00 pm. as three people tell their stories about the life and continuing the legacy of Malcolm X. This event was rescheduled from Black History month due to inclement weather.
For the past 20 years, KARAMAH has been proud to raise awareness of the legacy of Islam in America. Many fail to remember that Islam came to this country centuries ago–we hope to highlight that history while celebrating the narrative of African American Muslims in America today–particularly the narratives of African American, Muslim women.
Our panel will address Malcolm X’s history, his contributions to the advancement of the faith and how that legacy can be continued today. The night will feature author and Morgan State University professor, Dr. Jared Ball; host of the Scholar’s Chair Khalil Shadeed and KARAMAH founder Dr. Azizah al Hibri. It will be an educational evening to enrich our understanding of the broader history of Islam in America. An open Q&A session will follow the lecture.
