Since 2003, KARAMAH has worked to develop intensive and innovative educational programs that provide Muslim women with the tools and skills they need to become dynamic leaders in their communities. These training programs range from short one to three-day workshops, to our flagship three-week Law and Leadership Summer Program (LLSP). The programs focus on three core areas of expertise – Islamic law, Conflict resolution, and Leadership – and take place in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Though our workshops are available around the world, many women choose to come to the US – where we are headquartered – to participate in our longer LLSP program.
Over the years, KARAMAH has hosted women from different countries, and these women have represented vastly different cultures and societies. This past summer, KARAMAH graduated its 13th LLSP class, bringing the total number of LLSP alumnae to 240 women. After graduating from KARAMAH’s programs, alumnae have returned to their communities to serve as leaders, to share their knowledge, and to work for positive change in their communities. Through their efforts, and with ongoing support from KARAMAH, our impact is felt by hundreds more women around the world.
