\n\t\t\tDean John G. Douglass\u00a0is Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Richmond.\u00a0 He has served as a faculty member of the Virginia State Bar\u2019s course in Professionalism, as an instructor of a variety of programs for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and a frequent lecturer at various legal education programs.\u00a0 In addition to his work in academia, a certified mediator by the Supreme Court of Virginia, Dean Douglass serves as a mediator and arbitrator of commercial disputes.\u00a0 He is the Chair of the Richmond City Charter Review commission, and serves on the Ethics Committee for Virginia Commonwealth University Hospitals. Dean Douglass\u2019s principal academic publications focus on prosecution, the criminal trial process, and the Confrontation Clause.<\/p>\n
Before he began his academic career in 1996, Dean Douglass practiced law for 15 years.\u00a0 He served for eight years, as an Assistant United States Attorney in Baltimore Richmond was Chief of the Criminal Division of the United States from 1992 to 1996.\u00a0 He also served on the staff of Independent Counsel Lawrence Walsh in the Iran- contra investigation.\u00a0 His professional expertise includes commercial litigation, insurance defense, construction litigation and white-collar criminal defense.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBack to Contributing Authors\n\t\t<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Prof. John G.
