On Tuesday June 21, 2016, KARAMAH hosted its annual community Iftar at Masjid Muhammad D.C., the Nation\u2019s Mosque. Like each year, the masjid was filled to capacity. Nearly 200 attendees of different backgrounds and faiths united to celebrate Ramadan with us, share delicious halal food, get to know one another, and celebrate our common denominator- humanity. KARAMAH\u2019s Chairwoman, Saleema Snow, remarked: \u201cIt was wonderful to see the diversity in the room \u2013 a true community affair. The Iftar reinforced that we were created in tribes, so that we may know one another.\u201d Hosting this Iftar is very significant for KARAMAH given its spiritual and communal benefit. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, \u201cWhoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.\u201d This iftar was a way for us to express our appreciation to the community that has been very supportive of our work and we hope to continue promoting greater cohesiveness within the Muslim community \u2013 truly, we are all one family.
