We are always delighted to bring together outstanding members of our community and gracious supporters to share the spirit of Ramadan, highlight our achievements and raise awareness regarding the challenges ahead of us.<br>This event has throughout the years taken the form of an intimate dinner that provides attendees with a chance to socialize and engage in interesting discussions while enjoying a delicious Iftar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event featured the welcoming address of KARAMAH\u2019s Board of Directors Chair, Raheemah Abdulaleem. Ms. Abdulaleem welcomed the guests and thanked them for their continued support of KARAMAH. She also highlighted the outcomes of the Leaders and Scholars Summit which was convened earlier this year. See the Summit statement&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/karamah.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Final-DC-Summit-Statement.pdf\">here<\/a>. Ms. Abdulaleem also spoke about KARAMAH\u2019s commitment to equity and justice and its belief in education as transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On that note, Judge Mohamed Abdel Aziz Ibrahim, member of KARAMAH\u2019s Board of Advisors and Islamic law Expert to the UN spoke about the importance of investing in women\u2019s education in order to affect social change. \u201cThe mother is a school, if you prepare her, you prepare a nation,\u201d he said. He also shared his experience standing up for justice even in the face of various threats and encouraged the guests to follow suit and continue to strive for justice despite the numerous obstacles society might present them with.
