Advocating for the religious freedom and human rights of all is a core aspect of KARAMAH\u2019s work. Addressing post-9\/11 prejudice and bullying of Muslim students in schools and universities specifically, KARAMAH\u2019s Vice President, Ms. Engy Abdelkader, Esq. wrote to Special Counsel for Religious Discrimination in advance of the March federal interagency meeting at the Department of Justice. In her submission, Ms. Abdelkader illustrated KARAMAH\u2019s concerns using examples of religious discrimination against Muslims in schools, universities and in everyday life. She proceeded to outline four considerations to help alleviate this issue in the classroom environment. For example, one point included a suggestion about offering incentives for educational institutions to implement student and faculty diversity initiatives.
