On Wednesday August 31, a delegation of 14 foreign leaders visited KARAMAH as part of the Department of State\u2019s International Visitor Leadership Program on \u201cCommunity activism and Minority Rights\u201d. The visitors came from different countries in East Asia and the Pacific and represented different governmental and non-governmental institutions. The visitors wanted to explore the key role of non governmental organizations and citizen action groups and observe how they work together with state and local governments to ensure minority rights. The meeting started with an introduction of KARAMAH \u2018s history, mission and programs by Ms. Nevine Abdullah. Then, a very interactive question and answer ensued. The guests were impressed by KARAMAH \u2018s work and achievements and were interested in seeing KARAMAH \u2018s work expanding in their region as well. The guests also asked many questions pertaining to Islamic jurisprudence which were fielded by Ms. Abdullah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
