KARAMAH Hosts its Annual Community Iftar at Masjid Muhammad

On Monday June 22nd, 2015, and as has been the tradition, KARAMAH hosted its annual community Iftar at Masjid Muhammad. Like each year, the masjid was filled to capacity. 200 attendees of different backgrounds and faiths united to celebrate Ramadan with us, share delicious halal food, get to know one another, and celebrate our common denominator- humanity.

“It was wonderful to see the diversity in the room – a true community affair…

The Iftar reinforced that we were created in tribes, so that we may know one another.”

– KARAMAH Board member Saleema Snow

Hosting this Iftar is very significant for us given its spiritual and communal benefit. Prophet PBUH said, “Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.” It is a way for us to express our appreciation to the community that has been very supportive of our work and we hope to continue promoting greater cohesiveness within the Muslim community.
