KARAMAH Working Group Hosts Screening of CelebrateMercy Webcast

Karamah hosted a viewing of this year’s webcast of CelebrateMercy. CelebrateMercy was incepted in February 2010 to promote a deeper understanding of the Prophet Muhammad. This year’s webcast was entitled “Love and the Beloved” and various scholars from across the world came together to talk about the Prophet Muhammad’s relationship with his wives. Many stories relayed the strength, love and respect that each marriage promoted.

This viewing was hosted by Karamah’s working group on relationships, as one of its activities promoting healthy Muslim relationships. In addition to the CelebrateMercy screening, the working group on relationships is currently planning programs for DC-area mosques that complement current efforts to build strong relationships. Planned programs include lectures and networking events that educate community members on specific issues around pre- and post-marital relationships and provide spaces for Muslims to meet each other.

If you would like to help plan or coordinate these events, the working group invites you to join us by attending our weekly conference call, which take place every Wednesday at 5:00 PM. To learn more about the working group, or to get information about our weekly meetings, you can contact us at ehummel@karamah.org or call KARAMAH at 202-234-7302.
