On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, KARAMAH commemorated International Women’s Day by conducting a workshop for global Muslim women leaders. KARAMAH was joined by leaders from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Chad, Jordan, Morocco, and Algeria. During the workshop, KARAMAH engaged the leaders in strategizing on ways we can advance women’s rights from an Islamic perspective.
KARAMAH shared with the group it’s research and scholarship with these leaders to address issues of women’s access to financial rights, the rights at marriage and divorce, inheritance, custody, and enforcement of the Islamic marriage contract.
