About Dr. Hosn Abboud
Dr. Hosn Abboud is a lecturer at the American University of Beirut, specializing in:
- Women’s Issues and Qur’anic Interpretation
- Modern Arabic Feminist Writings
- Islamic Feminism
- Women’s Roles in Dialogue, Peacebuilding, and Social
- Transformation
Dr. Abboud has lectured at numerous universities across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
In addition to her academic work, she is a member of the Lebanese Association of Women Researchers (Bahithat), a co-founder of “The Path of Mary,” an interfaith dialogue movement, and a member of the Beirut Ethics Colloquia.
Her civic engagement includes successfully lobbying the Beirut municipality (2010) to rehabilitate a public staircase in her neighborhood, addressing pollution and improving public space access.
