Love Like the Prophet (PBUH) October 28, 2016

For the past four years, KARAMAH has hosted an important lecture series which seeks to raise awareness about domestic violence prevention. Our program is unique because we look at the issue from a slightly different perspective – we have sought to promote the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) model of love as a way to combatting DV in our faith community. We believe that if we learn his example, we cannot help but be inspired by the love with which he treated not only his spouses but also his children and grandchildren, his companions, animals, and even the very earth he walked on.

This year, we want to do something different with our program: we will be hosting an evening of art at America’s Islamic Heritage Museum (AIHM). We will be featuring spoken word artists, poets, singers, and visual artists who will be displaying their art and talent as variations on the theme. If you have a work you would like to showcase or perform, please contact Samira Elhosary at selhosary@karamah.org.

Please join us at 7 p.m. at AIHM on October 28 as we celebrate this Prophetic model and work to end domestic violence in our communities!
