Adrien Wing

ADRIEN KATHERINE WING is Associate Dean for International and Comparative Law Programs at the University of Iowa College of Law, where she has taught since 1987. She is also the Bessie Dutton Murray Distinguished Professor of Law. She received her AB degree from Princeton University with high honors, MA degree in African Studies from UCLA, and Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from Stanford Law School. Author of over 150 publications, Wing is the director of the UI Center of Human Rights and France summer abroad program. Her most recent book is Family Law and Gender in the Middle East and North Africa: Change and Stasis since the Arab Spring (edited with Hisham Kassim, Cambridge Press 2023). Her courses include Law in the Muslim World. She advised the founding mothers and fathers of three constitutions including the Palestinian Basic Law. She currently serves on the Board of Editors of the American Journal of International Law.
