In October 2010, presented a briefing on the new CEDAW Concept Paper at the United Nations. The briefing addressed issues related to the rights of Muslim women and Islamic law currently under debate within the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) at the United Nations, and initiatives that KARAMAH has taken to address them. In particular, KARAMAH presented its newest position paper responding to a current amendment under consideration within CEDAW regarding the economic consequences of divorce on women.
