#BlackGirlMagic-Raheemah Abdulaleem Esq.

President of KARAMAH, Raheemah Abdulaleem Esq. lectured at LLSP on August 3rd. “When you walk into a room and you see chairs, if there’s no seating arrangement take a seat at the table, and be open to starting a dialogue,” she began. Then, she explained “as Muslim women, sometimes people make assumptions about you. As I approach people, I do not apologize for any of my identities as an African American, as a Muslim, or as a woman. It is who I am, and at work it can be an asset.” When being unapologetic about identity, it is important to address questions in a straightforward manner and share your story if possible.

Throughout her time as president of KARAMAH, Raheemah has been unwaveringly supportive towards KARAMAH, and we are immensely grateful. Much of what KARAMAH does as an organization would not be possible without her leadership or wisdom.
